World-class equestrian competition offers variety of roles for those looking to give back

KALISPELL, Montana (June 12, 2019) –Each July, The Event at Rebecca Farm hosts hundreds of world-class competitors in the largest equestrian triathlon in the western United States. Riders compete in three disciplines — Dressage, Cross Country and Show Jumping — that combine to form the thrilling sport of eventing.

Organizers are looking to recruit a robust team of volunteers to make this exciting competition possible. Volunteer recruitment is currently underway for The Event at Rebecca Farm and a range of opportunities are available from July 24-28.

Volunteers enjoy a backstage pass to this high-profile event by serving in varying roles ranging from jump judge and score runner to hospitality assistant and parking crew. No experience is required to join the volunteer team. First-time participants, families and groups are highly encouraged to participate.

“Volunteering is a unique way to experience The Event. Volunteers get an up-close look at all the action and are treated like family. That’s what keeps them coming back year after year — they have a great time, meet new friends and enjoy giving back,” said event organizer Sarah Broussard. “I’m so grateful to the hundreds of people who generously donate their time. We truly couldn’t do it without them.”

Roughly 10,000 spectators attend The Event at Rebecca Farm each year. Now in its 18thyear, The Event generates millions of dollars in economic impact for the Flathead Valley.

Shifts range from a few hours to multiple days. Children ages 10 to 12 may volunteer alongside a parent or guardian, while teens ages 13 to 15 can volunteer as long as a parent or guardian is present on site. Adults and teenagers ages 16 and older are welcome to volunteer in a variety of roles.
