Political policy must change to suit the times. Ethics should not

I don't believe any political policy is good at all times. It's not religion or personal ethics.

Lincoln did things that would be appalling in other times. Our Founders were traitors. When FDR was in office, he did things that needed to be done at that time. I agree with my Mom and Dad. Farmers and ranchers needed some help...at that time. Unemployed people needed that help...at that time. Social Security started as a great idea, like many of the Alphabet Soup laws that were passed and intended to be temporary. But, as our forefathers were leery of, once the government got that much power, it wasn't just going to give it up. Hence, the slow crawl towards socialism on an extreme scale as we stripped states of their rights.

Democracy is messy, chaotic, bloody, complex despite our attempts to restrain it..

The political pendulum swings both ways. We are in a one-size-fits-all country because the citizens in each state cannot govern themselves. Trump is the symptom displayed by many of us who just want the government to leave us alone.

Hillary and Bernie and their ardent supporters believe they have to shove everything down everyone's throats. So, here we are, on the verge of another civil war.

If you are so in love with one party or the other, you are part of the problem. As for questions I field from some Liberals. It's not about losing rights, which are protected by the Constitution and Amendments. (Although, if these parties had their ways, half of these amendments would be repealed) It's about freedoms, taxation, regulations, codes, agendas, thought crime, speech crime, political correctness and so on.

At its base, it's about putting the individual above the government, not the government above the individual. I've extensively read the Federalists Papers, Common Sense, and our founding documents and there is no question the Founders had a sincere and necessary distrust of government and did everything they could to limit its power and build in checks and balances, and state's rights were absolutely one of the most important foundations, especially when taking the Articles of Confederation into consideration.

It's always been about what a citizen can do and what the government cannot. Now here's my question to liberals specifically: In my lifetime we've gone from lynchings and wife beatings to somewhere much better. But if you liberals are so pissed off at everything, why do you keep voting for and supporting these failed politicians and their policies? YOU liberals are the ones rioting, adopting restricting laws and social guidelines and calling anyone who even tries to put forth a differing view, the most vile names you can think of.

We've been in the throes of a social revolution for 60 years at least. You can respond with whatever you want because I understand you would support your precious politicians no matter their behaviors, But think about what I asked.

And if you want the 1% to pay their taxes, why not eliminate the IRS and pass a national sales tax? That would catch the billionaire, illegal immigrants, mafiosos, drug dealers, pimps, whores, and tourists.

But you don't like that because liberals want to punish people they don't agree with. But I digress.
