Community dinner

Come enjoy a free meal with your community from 5 to 6:30 p.m. April 27 at The Gathering Place. This is a non-religious gathering and everyone is welcome. Each dinner is special. This free gathering and meal is produced by Judy Adams, Judy Sederdahl, Sue Birkey and Naomi Claridge and is part of Feeding the Flathead.

Kindergarten Colts New Opportunity for young 5 year olds with summer birthdays! We offer a Kindergarten Colts class taught by Mrs. Torgerson, which is a full day program and will have its own curriculum and activities. After completing Colts, students transition to kindergarten the following year. Colts must be 5 by Sept. 10 to be eligible. More information will be available at Kindergarten Registration.

Kindergarten Roundup The Lakeside Elementary School Kindergarten Roundup is 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., April 18 to 20. New Kindergarten students need to be 5 years old by Sept. 10. As per Montana state law, children born September 11, 2013 or later are not eligible. A birth certificate and current immunizations are needed to register. Students will be screened for vision, hearing, speech, motor and cognitive skills. Screening is also available for preschool children ages 3 to 5. Call 844-2208 in early April to make an appointment for your child (allow about an hour).

Flathead Lake Mussel Walk WHEN: 2 p.m., Sat., April 14 WHERE: Flathead Lake State Park: Wayfarers Unit 8600, Hwy 35 Bigfork DETAILS: Flathead Lakers, the Flathead Lake Biological Station, the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, and Montana State Parks teach how to identify invasive mussels, report something suspicious, and clean, drain, and dry a boat. Grant Application Process Mid-September letters are mailed to potential or interested 501(c)3 organizations. The Funding Application must be completed and returned by Oct. 15. Applications are reviewed by the Board and Committee and Allocations are determined. Verification letters are mailed and must be returned before December 1. Checks are mailed about Dec. 15.
