MDOT predicts slower traffic nearby
KALISPELL - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to install safety improvements on U.S. Highway 2 (US-2) and U.S. Highway 93 (US-93) in Lake and Flathead counties: . Site 1 - US-2, Marion: Install panel delineation for the curve at reference post (RP) 104.3 to RP 105.3.. Site 2 - US-2, Nyack: Install panel delineation, curve warning signing, and modified shoulder rumble strips for the curve at RP 164 to RP 165.. Site 3 - US-93/Main Street, Kalispell: Install pedestrian crosswalk flashing beacons on the County Courthouse Couplet for both directions of travel at RP 111.7 to RP 111.9.. Site 4 - US-93, Kalispell: Install panel delineation for two curves, one located near the intersection with Schrade Road at RP 119.6 and the other located near RP 120.20.. Site 5 - US-93, Big Arm: Install curve warning signing, panel delineation, and modified shoulder rumble strips for the curve at RP 70.0.The purpose of the project is to enhance roadway safety for the traveling public.The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2019, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding.
