1st Harvest of Apricots from Tree Give Away program reported

I am very pleased to report that last week I was treated to a dozen delicious apricots from a fruit tree that our Lakeshore Community Garden gave away six years ago. That tree was one of the original starters in their fruit tree give away program. (History Note: The initial goal was to give away 100 fruit trees in 3 years. It then expanded to 300 trees in five years. After six years, we stopped counting when we surpassed 1,000 trees.)

Many of the plum trees that were given out five to six years ago have already been bearing fruit, and LOTS of the free grape plants have also been fruitful for several years as well. This year we gave away our first peach trees. I look forward to reporting that they are providing a bonanza in 2025.

Well, that’s it.

Blessings
