Otter Fodder: We will make a splash

Welcome to the first edition of the Flathead Otter.

My wife, Michelle and I started YMO Media & Marketing in 1996 and spread it to three states. God landed us here by accident three years ago and we will never leave Montana.

We launched Health, Wellness & Seniors Montana magazine in 2015. It is a glossy, quarterly publication that really hit its niche. Last fall, responding to requests from the Bigfork area, we launched the monthly Bigfork Beagle.

By Christmas, a few folks in the Lakeside-Somers area wondered where their new paper was.

So, we are founding the Flathead Otter to cover the West Shore. We will start off slowly while we gain an audience and ads and we plan to be around a long time.

We want to thank Whitefish Credit Union for being our first sponsor (back page) and as soon as we get enough, we will break the Otter out as it’s own, stand-alone publication.

The Otter will focus on community events. We will cover churches, schools, nonprofits, charities, clubs, service organizations and features.

We want as many names and faces of locals as we can get. We are requesting your calendar items, schedules, news, pictures and whatever else you submit.

We are a micro-company and we will build a self-sustaining newspaper that belongs to you.

And, we will advertising and sponsorship dollars right here in Western Montana.
